A High Fiber Diet Can Help You Lose Weight Faster – Even If You Are Taking A Diet Pill

Let’s talk about a High Fiber Diet . . .

I’m not going to get technical and give you the technical term of fiber to make this sound more intelligent or high brow. Suffice to say, fiber is an important part of our daily diets and a high fiber diet might be the perfect solution if you are trying to lose weight, even if you are already taking a diet pill.

There are two main types of fiber: soluable and insoluable fiber. Both of these are important if you are aiming for optimal health. Fiber has quite a few health benefits and it is recommended that you ingest fiber in your daily food intake. Here are some of the health benefits:

* Promotes the feelings of fullness you need to eat less and reduces energy consumption * Prevents constipation, hemorrhoids, and other intestinal problems * Assists in the prevention of bacterial infection of the appendix * Reduces the risk of colon cancer * Stimulates the muscles in the digestive tract and assists in retaining their health and tone

People normally need 20 to 35 grams of fiber daily to keep the digestive tract healthy and help in preventing other disorders like hemorrhoids and intestinal problems.

Fibers are especially found in whole foods and can be obtained in a variety of plants, vegetables, and fruits. All fruits are rich in fiber. To get 2 grams of fiber, you could eat 1 small apple, 1 small banana, 1 peach, 16 large cherries, or 2 prunes.

Grains also contain fiber. To get another 2 grams of fiber, you could eat 1 slice of whole wheat bread, 2 slices of cracked wheat bread, 2 cups of popped popcorn, 1 cup of cooked oatmeal, of 1/4 cup of corn bran.

For a low-carb diet, try eating cooked vegetables to provide your body with enough fiber. For another 2 grams of fiber, you could eat 1/2 cup of carrots or broccoli, 1 cup of celery, 1 small potato, 1 large tomato, or a variety of beans.

Beans, or any type/variety of legume, are some of the heavy lifters of fiber. By eating only 1/2 cup of kidney beans or canned baked beans, for example, you could provide your body with a whopping 8 grams of fiber.

In addition, small amounts of fiber can be obtained by eating peanuts, walnuts, and even pickles, so no excuses for not getting fiber in your everyday diet!

So, while you are taking those diet pills, whichever one you are on, think about adding some extra fiber to your diet and see if it makes a difference in your body losing weight and feeling better!

Have a great day!
